To ensure correct exterior house painting, the right preparation is of upmost importance. The right preparation will determine how long the work done will last. The first thing to do before painting a house is shackle, caulk and seal any and all cracks in the siding. This will help prevent water from getting inside the wood which will help prevent the paint from peeling too early. There are many great exterior shackling compounds which allow you to fill holes only once. This is due to non shrinking shackle and is a valuable time saver. Use caulks to fill in cracks. Repeat this process if the cracks are deep. For best looking results always use a sponge that is damp to wipe off any leftover caulk that may have gotten onto the outer surface of the house. Once these steps are complete, exterior paint is now ready to apply.
